Before the COVID-19 outbreak, Imtiaz, a TCF student of Class 4 in a small village of Tando Allahyar in Sindh, was dreaming of flying airplanes. Imtiaz lost his father at a very young age, and his mother stitches clothes for a living.
Even before the pandemic, she was barely able to afford three meals a day for her family. Now she can only afford to feed them once a day. Imtiaz began working two jobs, cutting and selling wood and filling containers with water and supplying them door to door for some extra money.
When schools reopened, Imtiaz’s mother refused to send him back to school and forgo the additional income he was bringing home. It was not until Imtiaz’s principal personally visited his mother and offered an additional scholarship and relaxation in school timings, that she agreed to send Imtiaz back to school.
While Imtiaz is back in school, learning and dreaming, thousands are still unable to return. Your Zakat and Sadqah for their education will help them continue their learning journey once again!
